Googles mobile search result update

Google rewarded mobile friendly websites back in April 2015 by displaying them in search results over non-mobile friendly websites. Google recently made this announcement about their Algorithm. The reason Google has told us about it this time, is to encourage anyone who hasn’t already got a mobile friendly site website, to start having it developed.

They rewarded mobile-friendly websites with better mobile search engine rankings beginning on April 21st 2015.

Did you miss the boat?

If your website is not mobile-friendly, it may not be visible on mobile rankings or receive a much smaller piece of the mobile search traffic results. You would have to rely on desktop-based organic traffic. This isn’t great news, considering the amount of people accessing websites from their mobile devices have increased in recent years. In fact, mobile usage has overtaken desktop based digital media. Mobile usage accounts for 60% of time spent online.

All of my new designs now come mobile ready and comply with the new requirements.
